How to operate a wood cnc router

Instructions

1
Wear safety glasses whenever operating any machinery, especially a wood router, as your eyes are the most important tool for safe operation. Always unplug the wood router whenever you perform a tool change or doing setup for the rotating tool.

2
Change the tooling on your wood router by wearing leather gloves. The sharp edges can deeply cut your hands and fingers. Always be sure to respect the tooling and keep the edges sharp. Do not drop the tooling or cutters against any hard surface such as concrete or metal.

3
Set the depth stop to the proper height, and test the router cutting action in a scrap piece of wood before using the machine on any final cut. A piece of scrap wood is cheap in comparison to that final project. Always clamp the work piece to a firm and stable surface before cutting.

4
Firmly grip the wood router by both handles and use your thumb to switch on the motor. The wood router will give a powerful twist when first switched on, but will immediately smooth out when running.

5
Adjust any fencing widths with the wood router off and unplugged; this also goes for any jigs that maybe used. Always double check that the tooling is firmly and tightly in place, and that all screws that hold the depth setting and fence width are secure.
