Do-it-yourself cnc router

Do-It-Yourself CNC Router

Instructions

1
Place a precut wooden design in the provided brackets on the right side of the pantograph template. Slide two metal sleeves forward or backward to accommodate the letter. When they fit snug around the letter, turn the wing nuts to lock it in place.

2
Pull the control arm with the small vertical pin down and let it come to rest on the side of the design. It is spring loaded and will stay firmly pressed against the letter.

3
Place the wood blank in the template opposite the wooden letter. Slide the sleeves forward or back to fit them snug around the blank. Turn the wing nuts to lock it in place.

4
Insert a 1/4-inch cutter bit into the router and tighten it. Set the router depth so that the the end of the bit extends 3/4 inch from the bottom of the router.

5
Insert the router into a circular bushing at the end of a steel arm above the wood blank. Screw the base of the router to the bushing with two 1/2-inch screws and a screwdriver. Lower the router to within 1/4-inch of touching the wood blank. It will stay in place on the arm.

6
Turn on the router. Push down on it gently as the bit cuts into the wood. Begin moving the router around pushing and pulling the router in the directions that it will allow. It will follow the pattern establish by the control arm tracing and cutting the letter on the wooden blank. The letter will be reproduced by the do-it-yourself CNC router on the wood blank just as a programmed CNC router would.
