effective maintenance of cnc machines
Outside Cleaning
Cleaning the outside of the machine is an important part of CNC maintenance. Coolant that is used for cutting can damage metal parts, as the coolant has a high percentage of water added. Keep the outside of the machine clean and make sure that all chips are removed from the outside as well, as they are very sharp and can cut skin easily.

Inside Cleaning
Clean the inside of the machine, including the chip drawer. Chip buildup can prevent the coolant from getting back to the pump and cause low coolant pressure, resulting in heat damage to the tools. Blow the table off on occasion to make sure no chips get in the way of the cutting processes.

Lubrication
Keep the machine lubricated. Check the oil reservoir often and refill as necessary. Warm up the machine before using after it has been turned off. This will allow the oil to distribute itself through the moving parts before heavy cuts, which could damage an under-oiled machine.
